In 1999 ComputerReporters provided transcript services to an arbitration in Jakarta. The arbitration was conducted under the auspices of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law. The arbitration panel comprised a Swedish Harvard-educated lawyer, a retired Chinese-Indonesian judge and an Australian arbitrator. The chairman of the panel remarked on the last day of the hearing: "They have uncomplainingly been putting in great efforts in circumstances where they have every reason to complain about all of us using different accents and speaking at inhuman speeds and at a level inaudible even to bats; yet they have suffered unstintingly. I thank them both very sincerely." Arbitration panel chairman |
